Each and every month there are new bugs and fish added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In this article we’re going to cover the new bugs and fish for September 2020 in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Don’t panic too much, you’ve got until the end of the month to catch them all. You’ve easily got enough time to plan out which ones your going to catch in your shorter gaming sessions. You’ve also got the time to plan those late night sessions for some real bug hunting.

New Bugs and Fish for September 2020 Northern Hemisphere

Bug: Common Butterfly – You’ll find these little guys flying around your island between 4am and 7pm.

Bug: Yellow Butterfly – As with the Common Butterfly, you’ll find these bugs flying anywhere between 4am and 7pm.

Bug: Monarch Butterfly – These butterflies are slightly different, appearing anywhere on the island between 4am and 5pm.

Bug: Cricket – These bugs are fairly common, and will be anywhere on the ground between 5pm and 8am.

Bug: Bell Cricket – Just like normal Crickets, these guys are about between 5pm and 8am all over the place.

Bug: Red Dragonfly – Between 8am and 7pm you’ll find these beauties flying around your island.

Bug: Violin Beetle – Look out for these beetles on tree stumps at any time of day.

Bug: Pill Bug – For these guys you’ll need to hit a rock with a shovel until they appear. They’ll only spawn between 11pm and 4pm though.

Bug: Centipede – Just like with the Pill Bug, you’ll need to hit a rock between 11pm and 4pm to get these bugs to spawn.

Fish: Pike – You’ll be able to catch these giants all day on your island from any river.

Fish: Cherry Salmon – You’ll need to head to a clifftop river to catch one of these between 4pm and 9am.

Fish: Char – Once again, these guys can be found in clifftop rivers between 4pm and 9am.

Fish: Golden Trout – This is the final fish you’ll need to try to catch in a clifftop river between the hours of 4pm and 9am this month.

Fish: Salmon – Head to a river mouth and fish at any time of day to catch one of these.

Fish: King Salmon – Just like the less royal variant, you’ll find these guys at river mouths all day.

Fish: Mitten Crab – Look for these tiny fish in any river between 4pm and 9am.

Fish: Sturgeon – These big fish can be found at any time of day in a river’s mouth.

Sea Creature: Turban Shell – Dive in the ocean at any time of day to get one of these.

Sea Creature: Chambered Nautilus – Ocean dive between 4pm and 9am and you’ll be able to nab one of these.

Sea Creature: Umbrella Octopus – Dive any time of day, you’ll be in with a chance of grabbing one of these.

Sea Creature: Sweet Shrimp – Dive between 4pm and 9am and you’ll be able to get yourself one of these.

New Bugs and Fish for September 2020 Southern Hemisphere

Bug: Yellow Butterfly – As with the northern hemisphere, just look for these guys between 4am and 7pm on your island.

Bug: Tiger Butterfly – This stripy butterfly appears between 4am and 7pm anywhere on your island.

Bug: Peacock Butterfly – Look for these butterflies between 4am and 7pm, they’ll be flying around hybrid flowers.

Bug: Mantis – Between 8am and 5pm you’ll find these bugs on flowers.

Bug: Orchid Mantis – Much like the standard variant, they appear between 8am and 5pm, but only on white flowers.

Bug: Honeybee – These bees will just be flying around between 8am and 5pm.

Bug: Stinkbug – These guys are as common as muck, and will appear on flowers all day.

Bug: Man-faced Stinkbug – Check out flowers between 7pm and 8am for these guys.

Bug: Ladybug – Between 8am and 5pm you’ll be able to find these beauties on the flowers on your island.

Fish: Tadpole – Look out for these guys all day in your ponds.

Fish: Loach – It’s hard to miss these fish, they appear all day in your rivers.

Fish: Cherry Salmon – You can catch these guys in clifftop rivers between 4pm and 9am.

Fish: Char – Between 4pm and 9am you’ll find these fish in your clifftop rivers.

Fish: Golden Trout – Look for these fish in your clifftop rivers between 4pm and 9am.

Fish: Barred Knifejaw – Fish for these guys in the sea at any time of day.

Sea Creature: Turban Shell – Dive for these guys in the ocean at any time of day.

Sea Creature: Chambered Nautilus – Go diving in the ocean to get these between 4pm and 9am.

Sea Creature: Umbrella Octopus – You can get these guys from the ocean at any time of day.

Sea Creature: Firefly Squid – Between 9pm and 4am you can get these guys from the ocean.

Sea Creature: Spider Crab – Head out to catch these crabs at any time of day.
