Rainbow Stag in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a rare bug that can be sold for a fortune. However, it can only be captured during specific months at specific times. In this Animal Crossing: New Horizons guide, we have detailed everything you need to know about catching Rainbow Stag in the game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Rainbow Stag

First of all, let us talk about the months during which you can catch Rainbow Stag in the game. In the northern hemisphere, you can capture it from June to September. As for the southern hemisphere, it can be captured from December to March.

Coming to specific times of the day, you will only be able to capture it from 05:00 PM to 08:00 AM in the morning. Therefore, you will need to play in the evening or during the early morning to have a shot at capturing this rare bug.

Coming to its location, you should be able to find it in the trunks of different trees. They can be normal trees, palm trees, fruit trees – it does not matter. After you manage to find one, pull your bug net out of your inventory.

With the bug net equipped, press and hold ‘A’ and move toward the Rainbow Stag slowly. Once you are confident that you got the range right and will catch it, let go of ‘A’ and you will catch it. In case of miscalculations, the bug will fly and you will have to wait for another one.

If you successfully catch one, you will be able to sell it to Timmy and Tommy at Nook’s Cranny for 10,000 Bells. If you want some more Bells, you can sell it to Flick and sell it for 15,000 Bells apiece.

This is how you can catch Rainbow Stag in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
