Animal Crossing Flick | Who is This Adorable Red Chameleon?

Posted on October 19, 2020 By Crazy Hot No Comments on Animal Crossing Flick | Who is This Adorable Red Chameleon?

Flick is a red chameleon who was introduced in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. He surprised players when he first showed up, and many still don’t know exactly who he is. In this Animal Crossing Flick guide we’re going to cover everything there is to know about the character. Why he appears on your island, and what you can do once he’s there. Get ready to be keeping a constant eye out for this guy.

Bug Off

Flick replaces Nat as the Bug Off event NPC. He’ll appear on your island as a special visitor, but will also occasionally visit the Deserted Island outside of the competition. While he’s there he’ll be collecting special samples. While he’s there, outside of the event, he’ll be there from 5am to 5pm.

The Bug Off event occurs in June, July, August, and September. However, a random visit from Flick can also trigger the event. Whilst he’s on your island, he’s going to offer to purchase bugs from you at a rate of 150%. This means that whatever Tommy and Timmy will offer you, Flick will pay you half as much of that again.

This makes bug catching very worthwhile when Flick pops over to your island. There aren’t that many other easy opportunities to make so much cash. If this occurs earlier in the week, then it’s also a great chance to build up a good supply of Bells before buying Turnips on a Sunday.

If you bring Flick three of the same kind of bug in a row, you’ll then be able to commission him to make a specific model of that bug. Be careful in your choice though. Flick is only able to take one commission per visit, and you won’t get the model until the next day, when he mails it over to you.

Can Flick Live on Your Island?

Unfortunately there is no way to get Flick to live on your island. He is a wandering Villager who will come and go as he pleases. It’s mostly because he’s used to trigger and control an event, which is something that the developers don’t want players to be involved in all of the time.

Flick is however, a great source of income. If you see him, forget about all the other plans you have. Get a good Net, and start grabbing all of the bugs you can. It might not seem like a good idea, but Flick pays you so much for bugs that even the most common ones are worth selling.

There are a lot of commissions to be purchased from Flick. Unless you play Animal Crossing: New Horizons every day, or at least once a week, you’re not going to be getting them anytime soon. Working on this collection takes a considerable amount of time and effort, so if you’re dedicating yourself to it, get playing.

Of course, as more bugs are added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the future, it’s likely that Flick could fulfil new roles. He may even become a permanent fixture on your island one day, working alongside Blathers.

That’s everything there is to know about Flick. Let us know if you’ve managed to sell a load of bugs to him in the comments.
